Eggs from our Pastured Hens

Enough and A Little Bit More

Each spring I refresh our flock with 6 new hens. These birds will begin to lay eggs in October or November while my older hens are molting.
In addition, once the day length has reached only 12 hours a day, I will use artificial light to start the girls' day earlier in the morning. Giving them at least fourteen hours of light. This will induce some girls to start laying again, as our new hens continue to produce.
Along with all of this, we provide a pasture, a covered outdoor run for inclement weather, and debris from our fresh greens harvests during the fall and winter months.
"Happy Girls!!!"... Farmer Pat always says.
